G-SHOCK DW6900ESC239 Ref. 6900 - Subtract by Ed Sheeran is inspired by the album cover for Sheeran's latest album, "Subtract". The album cover features an abstract rendering of Sheeran's portrait that loosely resembles the shape of a heart. "Subtract" is the fourth and final album in a series of math-inspired releases, and is considered Sheeran's most vulnerable and emotional album to date. The music on this album reflects the sincerity and truthfulness of the artist, and this sincerity is also conveyed through the design of the watch that bears the name of the album.

Breathtaking Design

G-SHOCK Ref. The 6900 - Subtract by Ed Sheeran comes with a resin case and strap in a bold and bright yellow - a bold choice that works surprisingly well on the wrist. The strap is decorated with black spots of acrylic paint that draw inspiration from the album's peripheral artwork. It also includes a black strap holder. Pure black color is used to indicate the functional indicators on the case, including Mode, Start/Stop and Adjust and Split/Reset. The same yellow and black pattern is applied to the illumination button at the bottom of the dial.

Art on the Wrist

What makes this watch really special is its dial. The entire dial is an abstract interpretation of Ed's face, with a sketchy subtraction sign at the 12 position, identical to the one on the "Subtract" album cover. The dial uses muted reds, oranges, greens and blues that perfectly balance the bright yellow of the case. The iconic G-SHOCK "Triple Graph" display is surrounded by a yellow bezel - a subtle way to transfer color from the case to the dial.

The watch comes in an attractive round G-SHOCK tin, which in itself is reminiscent of the 3-D interpretation of the album "Subtract". Inside the box, you'll find a personal message from John Mayer himself.
